Our Partners and Sponsors
We are grateful to our partners and donors that have supported us in this journey to provide a healthier future for our children. To support PHS in 2011, we received grants and private donations from several foundations and individuals.
-
A generous grant from the AstraZeneca HealthCare Foundation will be used to support our core program structure and to
reach out to Willow Run, Lincoln, and Detroit Public School districts. - The Bob and Ellen Thompson Foundation has allowed us to expand the program into three Detroit Charter Schools: University Prep Academy, University Prep Science and Math Academy and the Henry Ford Academy.
- Gifts given to us by Jim Nicholson, NuStep, the Glancy Foundation, the Googasian Family Foundation, CareSource, and the University of Michigan Health System will support the program in our current schools and help us to continue to expand in Detroit.
- The Allen Foundation’s gift has allowed us to bring the Farm-to-School program to Ypsilanti and the Detroit Charter
Schools.
- Champions for Charity Foundation, who has donated a portion of the proceeds from their fitness events including the Big House Big Heart Run, the Firecracker 5K and 100 Meter Kids Dash, and the Turkey Trot Run.
The generosity of our donors enables us to continue the battle against childhood obesity and insures that our research efforts will be shared with others for replication in communities across Michigan and the US.
